Armenia is an ancient country, the
first Christian state in the world and generally one of the earliest
countries on the Earth - already in IX-VI century before our age on
the territory of the present existed was the great state - Urartu.
Since that time all this periods, have their traces on this earth.
That is why this country can be mentioned as one of the most
interesting countries in Old World by the number of the memorials of
history and culture. The main sightseeing are in the neighborhood of
Yerevan - one of the oldest town in the world, and also are scatters
on the territory of the country, often it is highly possible to meet
the memorial, which can be mentioned as a property of the humanity
in the out-of-the-way place.

Armenian Flag:
The tricolor flag of Armenian is comprised of three horizjntal and
equally-sized stripes of red, blue and orange . The red color of the
flag symbolizes the blood that the Armenian people have shed in the
struggle for independence. Blue symbolizes the clear sky of Armenia, while the orange color
symbolizes the creative drive of the nation.

Country in the
Transcaucasia, in the north -
east part of the ancient Armenian volcanoes tableland,
which is framed by spurs Small Caucasian mountain range. On the
North it borders with
Georgia,
on the east - with Azerbadjyan, on the west and south - with
Turkey, on the south - with
Iran. The most
part of Armenian territory is on the high from 1000 up to 2500 m.
above see level (middle high 1800 m., the heist point - Aragats
mountain, 4090 m.), on the territory of lava plateaus and small
massifs Pambac, Gegham, Vardeniss and Zangezur mauntain ranges,
partitioned by dense net of valleys and deep canyons. South - east
of the country is occupied by the mostly even Ararat valley (middle
high 850-1000 m.), where are placed the main number of large
populated places of the country. Total space is nearly 29,8 thousand
sq. km.
